COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - With the longest winning streak since the 2009 season, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team (4-4 / 3-2 RMAC) will go for its fourth straight victory against Colorado State-Pueblo (3-5-1 / 1-3-1 RMAC) at 2:30 p.m. at the Rawlings Soccer Complex.
A win would make the four-game winning streak the longest since 2003. The Mountain Lions are in a three-way tie for second in the RMAC standings with Colorado Mesa and Metro State with the halfway point of the conference schedule on Friday night.
UCCS won both games against the ThunderWolves to help the Mountain Lions win their seventh straight Steel and Silver Trophy. Two points will be awarded to the school who wins today's game in the series that measures the best overall program between 10 sports and academics.
The Mountain Lions have the second-longest winning streak in the RMAC before today's round of games, behind league leader Regis. The defense has posted back-to-back shutouts for the first time since the 2010 season, and the offense has split the six goals from the last three games among four different Mountain Lions.
