UCCS Faces No. 7 Regis Today at 2 p.m. in Denver

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the first time in nearly three weeks, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team (1-3 / 0-1 RMAC) will travel to Denver to face seventh-ranked Regis (5-0-1 / 3-0 RMAC) today at 2 p.m. at the Regis Soccer and Lacrosse Pitch.

The Rangers have outscored their conference competition by an average of four goals per game, but the last two meetings between the Rangers and Mountain Lions in Denver were decided by single goals. In last year's 1-0 decision, Mash Shaswar led the UCCS offense with two shots and one on goal.

Shaswar is leading the Mountain Lion offense during this season, with two goals and 13 shots. He scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick against Colorado College on Sept. 12. More than half of the senior's shots are on target this season for UCCS.

The Mountain Lions have been no stranger to ranked teams this season, as three of the four opponents this year have been regionally ranked in their respective polls. Metro State came in at eighth in this week's South Central Regional poll, while California State-Stanislaus from the second game of the year is eighth in the West Region. Colorado College, who UCCS defeated 2-1 in Mountain Lion Stadium, is ranked fifth in the Division III West Region poll.
