Rather and Levett Lead Mountain Lions to Win Over West Texas A&M

COLORADO SPRINGS,Colo. - Hannah Rather and Hannah Levett each scored two with Levett also getting an assist on the first goal by Rather on the way to a 4-1 win over West Texas A&M.

The Mountain Lions (2-0-0) scored in the 18th minute when Rather put it in from the left side inside the 10-yard line to make it 1-0 UCCS. Then, in the 32nd minute Levett dribbled down the last half of the field to make it 2-0. Just before half, West Texas' Leslie Briggs took a shot that beat goalkeeper Kelly Schroeder to make it 2-1 at halftime.

The second half saw the Mountain Lions score in the 53rd minute when Rather added her second goal of the game to make it 3-1. Then, in the86th minute Levett scored her second goal of the game to complete the scoring and provide a 4-1 decision for UCCS.

Kelly Schroeder made five saves bringing her career save total to 153, giving her the program record for saves. Today's win was also Head Coach Nichole Ridenour's 30th win as a collegiate head coach.

Next up: The Mountain Lions will host St. Martins University on Friday, Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Mountain Lions Stadium. The Saints are 0-1 on the season after a 3-0 loss to California State-Stanislaus last Thursday night.
