Mountain Lions fall to No. 20 Mines for first loss of season

GOLDEN, Colo. - No. 20 Colorado School of Mines scored four times in less than 12 minutes to earn a 4-0 shutout victory over the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in a battle of unbeatens Sunday afternoon at CSM Soccer Field.

The Orediggers improved to 6-0, 2-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference). The Mountain Lions are now 3-1, 0-1 RMAC.

Erin Onat scored twice in just over a minute, the first a heeled-in pass from Danielle Hering at the 25:43 mark and the second a long shot from the left side 1:07 later.

Megan Woodworth made it 3-0, knocking in a crossing pass from Aubrey Bagley at 36:13. Just 1:24 later, Rebecca Morales put one in from eight yards out after Woodworth gained control of a chest-high ball and crossed it.

UCCS goalkeeper Kelly Schroeder made four saves before being replaced at halftime by Jessica Taylor, who added three saves. Penny Rogers made four saves in her 75:25 in goal for Mines. She shared the shutout with Amy Hegarty, who was untested in her 14:35.
