DENVER - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs couldn't preserve a two-set lead at the Mountain Lions dropped a 3-2 (19-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-17, 15-13) decision to the No. 22-ranked Regis Rangers Saturday at Regis Fieldhouse.
The Mountain Lions led 13-12 in the deciding set after a kill by
Sonja Johnson, Regis answered with kills by Kyndell Highland and Aubrey Podschweit before a block by Lyz Kann and Sage Martinson closed the set, and the match, out in the Rangers' favor.
UCCS (9-9, 4-5 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) has now lost four straight after winning seven in a row.
Jenica Shippy led the Mountain Lions with 14 kills and a .375 hitting mark.
Nikki Kinzer added 12 kills and
Alex Wood 10. Defensively, Skylar Lewandowski had 24 digs and Wood had 18. Bathelt had 45 assists, 15 digs and six kills.
Highland led Regis (14-5, 6-3 RMAC) with 18 kills.
