DURANGO - The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs volleyball team had a classic good news / bad news kind of day Friday at the Fort Lewis Volleyball Tournament.

The bad news is that UCCS followed that impressive win by dropping a 3-2 (25-15, 21-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-6) decision to an Adams State Grizzlies team that came into Friday at 0-4.
Setter
Cindy Bathelt keyed the Mountain Lions attack in the opener with 32 assists, eight digs, four kills (on just seven attacks) and four blocks (one solo and three assisted).
Sonja Johnson added eight kills and
Nicole Pederson seven.
UCCS held a .274 to .164 hitting advantage.
Adams State (2-4) got 24 kills from Darcy Jennings and 19 more from Dominique Davis to overcome a 2-1 deficit. Jennings hit .432 and Davis .286 as the Grizzlies outhit the Mountain Lions .234-to-.170.
