Mountain Lion soccer team off to best start ever with 2-1 victory over Midwestern State

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Senior Kevin Noleen broke a 1-1 tie in the 54th minute to give the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs men's soccer team a 2-1 victory over Midwestern State University Sunday at 4-Diamond Complex.

Noleen headed in the game winner off a corner kick from freshman Ryan Slaughter. The win improves the Mountain Lions' record to 5-1, the best start in team history. Senior Drew Mersereau also scored for CU-Colorado Springs. Alex Opoku notched the only goal for the Indians, who fell to 1-3 this season.

Mike Archuleta made four saves for the Mountain Lions, while MSU goalie Jon Sonnenberg saved nine shots, including a penalty kick by Noleen midway through the second half.
