COLORADO SPRINGS -- A 30-yard arching shot by Cody Moore 3:35 into overtime lifted the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers to a 2-1 win over the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs at Mountain Lion Stadium Friday night.

The Orediggers (8-4-2, 5-2-1 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) outshot the Mountain Lions 24-12 but it was UCCS (2-12, 1-8 RMAC) that scored first.

In the 23rd minute, Bryan Stoeber sent a corner kick into the Orediggers' penalty box and found the head of defender Jeff Gerali.

"[Stoeber] sent a perfect ball over the top and my teammates did a good job of drawing my mark away which left me open to finish," said Gerali.

In the 31st minute, Ted Decker broke through the Mountain Lions' defense and ripped a shot from the top of the penalty box but Mountain Lions' goalkeeper Mark Howard came up to make a diving save. The rebound landed at the feet of Grant Manthey who finished into the empty net.

Moore ended the game in the 94th with an arching shot over the outstretched arms of Howard, who finished with nine saves.

"Our team played very well tonight and it's unlucky the game had to end like that," said Gerali.

Both teams were under the direction of their assistant coaches. With Mines coach Frank Kohlenstein serving his one-game suspension for a red card, assistant Greg Mulholland led the Orediggers. UCCS was guided by Eric Foulk after head coach Flavio Mazzetti was suspended for two games for a violation of school policy.

The Mountain Lions haven't defeated the Orediggers since their 1-0 road win in 2005 and have now been outscored 17-2 in the five meetings since.
