Everything seemed to be going so well.

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs dominated the Colorado College Tigers early Saturday night but eventually lost 3-1 (19-30, 30-27,30-27,30-28).

It was Colorado College's fourth straight win over the Mountain Lions.

CU-Colorado Springs (6-6) could do no wrong in Game 1. The Mountain Lions hit .316 as they coasted to a double-digit victory.

"We played very well (in Game 1)," said coach Jessica Wood. "We were very relaxed but we still went after everything."

The Mountain Lions solid play carried over into Game 2. CU-Colorado Springs led most of the way and an Andrea Weedman kill put the Mountain Lions up 27-25 late in the game. Colorado College scored the final five points to win the game and tie the match 1-1.

"Colorado College did a great job of adjusting," said Wood. "They ran a faster offense (after Game 1) and it worked."

The Mountain Lions again led the majority of Game 3 only to see it slip away down the stretch. CU-Colorado Springs led 23-21, but the Tigers battled back to tie the game at 26-26 and went to win. Colorado College made the key plays down the stretch in Game 4 to close out the match.

CU-Colorado Springs got solid offensive output for its starting front row. Andrea Weedman had her third straight outstanding performance, this time slamming a game-high 22 kills to go along with 13 digs. Jill Wrenn had 20 kills and Caroline Ottino had 16.

"Those three have played so consistent," said Wood. "They see the block but they continue to hit through and around it."

Although it was a tough loss, Wood isn't worried about it weighing on the team.

"We will bounce back by Monday (the team's next practice)," said Wood. "They know what they have to work on and they're ready to do it."
