The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs volleyball team got back on track Oct. 8 in Lakewood, Colo. One night after having their four-game win streak snapped, the Mountain Lions defeated the Colorado Christian Cougars 3-1 (31-29, 30-21, 34-32, 30-25).

Kelly Olson, Kelley Angel and Caroline Ottino all hit over .300 for the match as the Mountain Lions outhit the Cougars .254 to .177. Jill Wrenn led CU-Colorado Springs with 21 kills while Ottino had 18.

Lindey Hillegass had a good night. She finished with 59 assists, nine digs and also snuck in four kills.

The Mountain Lions seemingly had no answer for Colorado Christian's Amy Corder.

Corder single-handedly kept the Cougars in the gmatch belting 27 kills, hitting .460. Corder also had 17 digs, and a pair of service aces.

CU-Colorado Springs (11-7, 6-4 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) trailed early in Game 1 before going on a 6-2 run capped off by an Andrea Weedman kill to take an 11-10 lead. CU-Colorado Springs never trailed the rest of the game and led wire-to-wire in Game 2 as well, taking a 2-0 lead into the locker rooms.

Colorado Christian (2-17, 0-10) led for most of Game 3 before the Mountain Lions stormed back late. CU-Colorado Springs led 29-28 with a chance to close out the match but a service error tied the game and the Cougars went on to win 34-32.

The momentum carried over for the Cougars into Game 4. Three straight Corder kills put Colorado Christian up 8-3 early on.The Mountain Lions remained calm and began slowly chipping away at the lead. CU-Colorado Springs grabbed its first lead of the game on an Angel kill to go up 19-18. After the teams traded a few points to tie it at 24-24 the Mountain Lions exploded with a 6-1 blitz to close out the match.
