Colorado Christian (5-10, 2-5 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) defeated the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (3-13, 1-6) volleyball team in four games Friday night at the Lionsâ€TM Den. CU-Colorado Springs won the opening game 30-20, before losing 22-30, 20-30, and 23-20.
Unforced errors were once again the culprit for CU-Colorado Springs as the Mountain Lions had a combined 47 miscues for the match, equaling their kills total.
The Mountain Lions dominated Game 1, outhitting Cougars .286 to .122 en route to the 10-point victory. Colorado Christian jumped out to an early 7-1 lead and led wire-to-wire in Game 2. Colorado Christian breezed to a 10-point victory in Game 3.
In Game 4, the Cougars closed the match with a 6-1 run to blow open what had been a close game.
Susanna Seawright led the Cougars with 15 kills and 10 digs. The Mountain Lions were paced by
Jill Wrenn, who had 11 kills.
The loss was the Mountain Lions sixth straight.
