The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (5-20) volleyball team had its two game winnings streak snapped by the Western New Mexico Mustangs (12-13) Saturday evening at the Lions' Den.
Western New Mexico beat the Mountain Lions in three games 30-18, 30-26, 30-28.
The Mustangs dominated every facet of the match. They out-hit the Mountain Lions .336 to .170. Western New Mexico had six service aces to CU-Colorado Springs' 1. The Mustangs also out-blocked the Mountain Lions seven to five.
Caroline Ottino lead CU-Colorado Spring will 15 kills while Jill Wren added 11. Lindsey Hillegas had 38 assists and
Jessica Hollingshead added 16 digs.
Western New Mexico was led by Kim Tano's 17 kills and Laree Green added 14 kills, hitting an amazing .778.
The Mountain Lions will be back in action next Friday night, Oct 31 against Adams State in the Lions' Den.
