The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (3-17, 1-11 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) was dominated on the road this weekend by the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers and Fort Hays State Tigers.

Nebraska-Kearney beat the Mountain Lions in three-games on Friday in Kearney, NE before Fort Hays did the same Saturday night in Hays, KS.

CU-Colorado Springs started off strong in Game 1 against Kearney. A Linnlee Hansen kill gave the Mountain Lions an early 4-0 lead over of the Lopers. The lead was short-lived.

A few points later, back-to-back aces by Kearney's Erin Arnold gave the Lopers their first lead of the match 10-9. Nebraska-Kearney never looked back as it eased to a 30-21 victory.

The 21 points the Mountain Lions put up in Game 1 would be the highest single-game point total they would put up all weekend. Nebraska-Kearney won games 2 and 3 30-14 and 30-18.

Freshman Amanda Szentmartoni finished the match with 11 digs and five kills for the Mountain Lions who hit just 0.50 as a team.

The Lopers, who hit .392 for the match, were led by Erin Gudmundson's 15 kills.

On Saturday night Fort Hays State jumped all over the Mountain Lions in the opening game.

The Tigers scored 18 of the first 21 points in Game 1 to take a more-than-commanding 18-3 lead en route to a 30-11 win. The Mountain Lions played better in the next to games, but still lost 30-16, 30-20.

The Tigers outhit CU-Colorado Springs .437 to .103 for the match.

Jill Wrenn had 11 kills for the Mountain Lions while Caroline Ottino added nine.

The loss was the Mountain Lions tenth in a row. Coach Tara Miller knows that her team has been through a lot this season and it starting to take a toll on their psyche.

"Right now we are battling with our minds-we are mentally exhausted, " said Miller. "As a team we have got to figure out a way to refocus."
