Colorado School of Mines blanks Mountain Lions 1-0

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Travis Fletcher scored the only goal of the game in the 41st minute to lead the Colorado School of Mines men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Sunday at 4-Diamonds Complex.

Fletcher deflected a free kick from Chris Good past Mountain Lion goalie Mike Archuleta to move the Orediggers to 12-2-2 overall and 7-1-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Colorado School of Mines, ranked No. 4 in the Midwest Region, has sole possession of first place in the conference after winning three conference games during the week.

Archuleta mdae five saves for CU-Colorado Springs (5-6 , 3-5 RMAC), while Brian Kerr made two saves in recorded his third consecutive shutout and eighth of the season.

The Mountain Lions, owners of a four-game losing streak, return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 18 in Lakewood, Colo. with a match against Colorado Christian University beginning at 3 p.m.
