COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Seniors
Adrian Marrero and
Jay Diprizio each collected a goal and an assist in the first half Sunday to lead the CU-Colorado Springs men's soccer team to a 5-1 victory over Gustavus Adolphus College at 4-Diamond Complex.
The Mountain Lions jumped out to a 4-0 first half lead as freshman
Ryan Slaughter and senior
Drew Mersereau also notched goals. Freshman
James Bisgard added a first half assist.
Jacob Valento scored the only goal for Gustavus Adolphus four minutes into the second half. Sophomore
Mike Archuleta then tallied his first career goal for the Mountain Lions with 10 seconds remaining in the game to close out the scoring.
The Mountain Lions improved their record to 11-5 this season, while Gustavus Adolphus, a Division II team from St. Peter, Minn., fell to 8-7-1.
