COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Tara Denney had 23 kills and 11 digs Wednesday, leading the University of Southern Colorado women's volleyball team to a three games victory over the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, 15-13, 15-10, 15-7 at the Gold Pit.
Denney had only seven attack errors for USC, No. 18 in the latest NCAA Division II poll, resulting in a .356 hitting percentage. Kari Conklin and Jennifer Lorince each added 11 kills and Erin Bailey recorded 57 assists for the Thunderwolves, who improve to 19-6 overall and 11-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, tops in the conference's West Division.
Joni Hepp notched 12 kills for the Gold, followed by
Dottie Trent and
Tara Henry with 11 and 10, respectively. Adrienne Epply chipped in with 39 assists and seven digs for CU-Colorado Springs, now 7-16 overall and 4-12 in RMAC play.
