Gold soccer team defeats Colorado Mines, 2-1

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Senior Dan Duryee and sophomore Matt Bolton notched goals as the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs defeated the Colorado School of Mines 2-1 Saturday in men's soccer action at 4-Diamond Complex.

Duryee, making his final appearance at home, outjumped Mines goalie Troy Laman and headed in a pass from Jerry McNeal in the 54th minute to give the Gold a 2-0 lead. Bolton fired a shot by Laman for CU-Colorado Springs' first goal after a shot by teammate Rob Weber had been blocked.

Greg Meyer made eight saves for the Gold, now 10-6-3 overall and 4-4-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Ron Lowman scored the Orediggers' lone goal with just over 10 minutes to play. Mines dropped to 8-9 overall and 5-6 in the RMAC.
