CU-Colorado Springs, Fort Lewis battle to scoreless tie

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado at Colorado Springs goalie Greg Meyer made nine saves, including one on a penalty kick in the first half as the Gold and Fort Lewis College battled to 0-0 tie in men's soccer action Tuesday at 4-Diamond Complex.

Meyer, the top-ranked goalie in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, stopped Rich Hansen's penalty shot with 3:05 remaining in the first half and recorded his fifth shutout of the 1996 season. The Gold is now 7-5-3 overall and 2-3-3 in the RMAC.

Michael Thomas made four saves for Fort Lewis, now 3-8-2 overall and 3-4-2 in the RMAC.
