Gallogly Events Center

The Gallogly Events Center is a 1,250-seat facility that opened on Jan. 8, 2010, with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting by University of Colorado President Bruce Benson and University of Colorado Colorado Springs Chancellor Dr. Pamela Shockley-Zalabak in a conference doubleheader with Fort Lewis.

The venue features state-of-the-art sound and lighting, high-speed data capability, Daktronics scoreboards, digital score tables, improved seating, large visitor's and officials locker rooms, dedicated VIP area, and is wired to comfortably host television broadcasts. The Events Center also achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification.

The facility was named in honor Tommy Gallogly, who earned a bachelor's degree in 1970 and a master's degree in 1973 from UCCS. The building is the first on campus to be named after a UCCS alumn. James L. "Jim" Gallogly, a 1974 UCCS graduate, and his wife, Janet, donated $1 million to the CU Foundation on behalf of the family, and requested that the facility be named after Jim's father. Seven of Tommy's 10 children graduated from UCCS.

Tommy Gallogly pased away in 2000, and more than 40 members of his family, including his wife, Margery, attended the dedication ceremony. A nameplate and plaque detailing Tommy's personal story can be found in the lobby.

Directions:
From Austin Bluffs Parkway, turn onto campus at the Regent Circle/Meadow Lane intersection. At the roundabout, take the third spoke and enter lot 222. From the lot, enter the plaza between Centennial Hall and the University Center, take the stairs to the second level, and the Gallogly Events Center is located on the north side of the upper plaza. For wheelchair access, use the elevator located in the University Center.
