Amanda Rego

Seven time All-American and professional runner, Amanda Rego, returned to UCCS in 2019 after serving as Volunteer Assistant for the Mountain Lions from 2015-2018. During the Spring of 2019 Rego served as Assistant Track Coach at Colorado College where she guided her athletes to runner-up finishes in the 800m and 1500m at the Conference Championships as well as a school record in the indoor 800m. During her three-year volunteer stint with UCCS, the Mountain Lions earned two Top-20 finishes at NCAA Cross Country Championships and earned multiple All-American honors.
 
An accomplished runner in her own right, Amanda competed for Florida State University where she helped lead the Seminoles to four consecutive podium finishes at NCAA Cross Country Championships. She was the 2013 NCAA Runner-Up in the indoor mile, and her time ranked top 10 all-time in the NCAA.  In 2014 Amanda lowered her mile PR to 4:26, ranking her third in the world at the time.
 
Amanda continues to train and run professionally for the Colorado Springs Track Club Elite team and enjoys sharing her expertise with the athletes she coaches. She is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer and coaches recreational runners from the mile to the marathon. She has also served as a coach for the Air Force World Class Athlete Program and guided Annette Melcher to the 2019 USATF Indoor Championships in the 1000m.
 
Amanda is married to Chris Rego who serves as Assistant Coach for the UCCS Men’s Cross Country Team.
