Tripp recorded his best tournament score and best tournament finish at the Western New Mexico Mustang Intercollegiate in Arizona. He finished second with a three-round score of 210 for six strokes under par. Tripp was one stroke behind the tournament champion.

Tripp shot a career-best 68 in the second round of the tournament in the first top-10 finish of his career. He recorded 12 birdies during the 54 holes of the tournament.
