UCCS Travels to Denver for Consecutive Conference Matches
The University of Colorado Colorado Springs volleyball team (10-11 / 6-7 RMAC) travels to Denver this weekend for consecutive conference matches as the Mountain Lions face the Rangers of Regis (14-9 / 10-4 RMAC)on Friday night and the Roadrunners of Metro State (13-9 / 9-5 RMAC) on Saturday night.
The matchup between Regis and UCCS will feature the two top serving teams in the RMAC as the teams enter the weekend ranked first and second in the conference respectively. The Mountain Lions average 1.19 service aces per set, and only trail the Rangers in that category, who average 1.21.
Jordan Banich leads UCCS in service aces per set with .41, which ranks second best in the RMAC. The Rangers are led by Sage Mortinson, who ranks ninth in the conference with .25. The Rangers are also led on offense by Katie Klein, who is fourth best in the RMAC for kills per set (3.75).
UCCS will be back in action in Denver on Saturday night as the team travels to play Metro State. The Roadrunners are not statistically great in any category this season, but they are good in most. They enter the weekend ranked fifth in the RMAC for service aces per set (1.09), assists per set (12.14), and hitting percent (.205).
Metro State is led on offense by Alysa Heath, who is ranked sixth in the conference for kills per set (3.65). Alex Green leads the Roadrunner defense and in is sixth in the RMAC for digs per set (4.20).
The Mountain Lions are led by Kristen Sciacca, who is fourth in the RMAC for blocks per set (.94), and fifth in the RMAC for hitting percent (3.15).
