2013 RMAC Schedule Set
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs will open the RMAC volleyball schedule at home Sept. 20 in the 2013 conference schedule announced today. The Mountain Lions will play 11 of its 21 conference matches at home in the Gallogly Events Center.
Newly appointed head coach Chrissy Elder and the rest of the Mountain Lions will kick off the 2013 campaign at home when they host Colorado Christian on Friday, Sept. 20, followed by Colorado Mines on Sept. 21. It will be just one of four homestands UCCS will have next season for the conference slate.
The second homestand, which begins on October 4, will see UCCS hosting Metro State, who finished last season fourth in the RMAC and Regis, who won the 2012 RMAC tournament.
On Oct. 17, the Mountain Lions will have their only three-match home weekend of the season. On Thursday night, UCCS will host Western State, followed on Friday with a match against the team who eliminated UCCS from the 2012 tournament, Adams State, and then will conclude on Saturday with a match Steel & Silver rival Colorado State-Pueblo.
The Mountain Lions will conclude the 2013 regular season the way they began it, as they will take on the Cougars of Colorado Christian in Lakewood, Colo.
Last season, the Mountain Lions advanced to the quarterfinal match of the 2012 RMAC tournament, while recording 10 wins at home, which matches the most home victories in program history.
