Mountain Lions take on Grizzles tonight in the 1st round of the RMAC tournament

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs volleyball team heads to Alamosa tonight to take on Adams State (23-4, 16-3 RMAC) at 7 p.m. in a quarterfinal matchup of the 2012 RMAC tournament.

The Grizzlies lead the all-time series with the Mountain Lions 28-17, although the two teams have swapped victories since the 2008 season when Adams State won both matches. Adams State won the previous match on October 12 of this season 3-1(25-17, 17-25, 29-27, 25-18).

UCCS enters the match tonight as the No. 6 seed to take on the Grizzlies who are the No. 3 seed. The Mountain Lions are currently second in the RMAC in total blocks, led by the four time RMAC defensive player of the week Nikki Kinzer, who leads the nation in blocks per set.
 

The Grizzlies finished the regular season as the No. 1 team in the West Division of the RMAC and are currently on a 10 match winning streak. The Grizzlies are led by their setter, Gabriella Rifilato, who is second in the RMAC in assists per set and their middle hitter, Megan Tapia, who is second in the RMAC in hitting percentage.
 
The game will be available on a video stream from America One Networks for $8. Live stats will also be active at game time.
