Mountain Lions finish the regular season at home for senior night

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs volleyball falls to Colorado Christian (22-8, 12-7 RMAC) in straight sets (25-23, 26-24, 25-18) on Saturday night. The Mountain Lions drop to an overall record of 18-8 with an RMAC record of 12-7.

Red-shirt freshman Jordan Banich started off the match scoring 3.5 points with three kills and one block assist. Banich finished the match with five kills, four digs and one block assist.

Freshman Kim Catlett led the way for UCCS in the second set as she records five of her nine kills. Catlett would go on to finish the match with nine kills, on a team-high 28 attacks, while adding six digs, two block assists and one service ace.

The reigning RMAC defensive player of the week, Nikki Kinzer, had her best set of the match in the third as she recorded six kills, 6.5 points, one block assist and one dig. Kinzer finished the match with team highs of 12 kills and 15 points, while adding six block assists and one dig.

Senior setter Lindsey Stich and freshman Libero Katie Maguire also had their best sets in the third. Stich had nine of her team-high 22 assists in the set, and finished the match adding seven digs, one block assist and one kill. Maguire had seven of her game-high 17 digs in the set, and finished adding one service ace.

UP NEXT: The Mountain Lions will be on the road this Tuesday, November 13 for the quarterfinal matchup of the 2012 RMAC tournament. The opponent and exact time is to be announced.
