COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Nikki Kinzer, the reigning RMAC Player of the Month, was named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Kinzer helped lead the University of Colorado Colorado Springs to two victories over the weekend with 19 digs and 22 block assists in three matches. On Thursday at Western State, she notched five blocks and six digs, followed by nine blocks and eight digs in a four-set loss to Adams State on Friday. She rounded out the weekend with eight blocks and five digs Saturday in a four-set win at CSU-Pueblo.

Kinzer currently ranks second all-time in school history for block assists and needs just 20 more for first. Kinzer also added to the offensive production as she finished the weekend with 31 kills, including 14 against Western State.

This is the second time that Kinzer has been named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week as she also earned this honor the week of Sept. 17.

Kinzer is also the reigning RMAC Player of the Month after she helped the Mountain Lions to nine wins in 14 matches in the month of September. She hit .329 by notching 102 kills on 216 total attempts while blocking an impressive 1.61 attempts per set.

Kinzer has led the Mountain Lions to an overall record of 13-6 and a conference record of 8-3, and looks to lead UCCS to a 9-0 home record this Thursday as the team hosts Fort Lewis. This would be the most home wins since 2007, when the team finished 9-0 at home.
