Colorado Springs, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's volleyball team beats Black Hills State in straight sets (25-22, 26-16, 26-16), on Friday, Sept. 21. The Mountain Lions improve to 8-3 overall, 3-0 in the RMAC, and 5-0 at home.

The first set proved to be the most closely contested as the Mountain Lions won the set by just three. This first set had 14 ties, and six lead changes, on route to a 25-22 win for UCCS.

Freshmen Kim Catlett and Jordan Banich led the way for the Mountain Lions in that first set, each putting in five of their 11 kills of the match. In the match, both also added two block assists, while Catlett also recorded eight digs.

Banich and Catlett continued to lead the way into the second set, both recording three more kills.  This set would be controlled primarily by UCCS who won 25-16, in a set that had just three ties and one lead change.

The third set would be much like the second as UCCS would go on to win 25-16 once again, in a set that only had one tie score and no lead changes.
