UCCS ranks No. 40 nationally in average volleyball attendance
COLORADO SPRINGS- The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs volleyball team ranked 40th nationally in average attendance in 2007, the NCAA announced Wednesday.
The Mountain Lions drew an average of 333 fans in the tiny, 400-seat Lions' Den.
UCCS was one of five Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schools ranked among the top 50. Nebraska-Kearney led the nation with an average of 1,195 fans per match. Adams State, with 366 per match, ranked 29th, followed by UCCS at No. 40. Mesa State was 46th with 291 and Western State was 49th with 284.
UCCS expects to play just one more season in the Lions'Den before moving into its new, 1,350-seat events center.
