New Mexico Highlands knocks off UCCS in five
The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs volleyball team lost in five games to New Mexico Highlands Tuesday night in Las Vegas, NM.
It was the second straight five-game loss for the Mountain Lions. On Saturday, they lost to Central Oklahoma in the final game of the Pueblo Tournament.
CU-Colorado Springs fell behind 8-2 in Tuesday's first 1 and never recovered, as the Cowgirls rolled to a 30-21 win.
CU-Colorado Springs won a marathon in Game 2 39-37, but dropped Game 3 30-15. The Mountain Lions came from behind to win Game 4 30-25, but played flat in the fifth and decisive set, losing 15-8.
Kristen Denman led CU-Colorado Springs with 15 kills. Lindsey Hillegass had 42 assists and 11 digs.
