Kinzer breaks all-time record for career block assists at UCCS
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's volleyball team falls to No. 23 ranked Metro State in straight sets (25-14, 25-20, 25-23). With the loss, the Mountain Lions drop to 15-8 overall, and 10-5 RMAC.
The reigning RMAC player of the month and RMAC defensive player of the week, senior middle blocker Nikki Kinzer, breaks the all-time career record for block assists at UCCS tonight as she records a team-high four block assists, one solo block and adds a team-high seven kills. Kinzer now stands alone as first in the records books at UCCS with 355 career block assists.
Freshman Kim Catlett finished tonight's match with six kills on a team-high 18 attacks and added two digs. Redshirt freshman Amanda Bloom had a well rounded game tonight as she finishes with three kills, four block assists, and one dig.
Senior Setter Lindsey Stich recorded 14 assists in the match while adding five digs and one kill. Stich is currently eighth all-time in career assists in school history with 1,521.
UP NEXT: UCCS will be on the road next as they clash with cross-town rivals Colorado College on Tuesday, October 30. The Mountain Lions leads the all time series with the Tigers, 21-14 after winning their last meeting 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-14), on September 21, 2011.
