| May 1, 2012 | California to Kansas...and back again. | Getting things started for the mountain lions were several of the middle and long-distance squad who traveled to Lawrence, Kansas for the KU Relays. Despite swirling winds during the Thursday and Friday evening sessions of the three day meet, several of the UCCS runners recorded personal or season bests. Highlights from the meet included Alexa Urban running a season best in the 800 meters of 2:15.66 to rank her fifth in the RMAC. Ryan Derrick placed sixth among college runners in the 3000 meter steeplechase, Mike English was the seventh placing collegian in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:02.19 which is number five on the UCCS all-time performance list. | |

In the team scores UCCS finished 6th on both the men’s and women’s sides equaling the 6th place finishes by both programs at last year’s championships. | |

| February 13, 2012 | Three Days, Four States, Two Meets, and another National Qualifier | Matt Cameron followed up his impressive performance in New Mexico last weekend with another national qualifying mark at the Grand Valley State Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan on Friday. Cameron, who currently sits fifth in the country in the 800 meter run, bettered the provisional standard in the mile by running 4:12.89 amongst stiff competition in Michigan. The performance moves Cameron to #2 all-time for UCCS behind only Moses Tum, a former national champion for the Mountain Lions. | |
| January 31, 2012 | UCCS Track and Field Teams Roll On... | As the pages on the calendar turn to February, the UCCS track & field team begins to focus on the RMAC Indoor Championships at the end of the month. In the latest USTFCCCA rankings the UCCS women's team is ranked #24 in the country based on the strength of several individual performances. The men also have several individuals ranked in the top eight of their event in the RMAC. Both teams have high expectations and a number of individuals who are shooting for all-RMAC honors and possible qualification for the NCAA II Indoor Track & Field National Championships March 9th -10th in Mankato, Minnesota. | |

| June 8, 2011 | UCCS track & field adds 12 | University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field coach David Harmer announced Wednesday that the Mountain Lions had signed 12 athletes to join the team for the 2011-12 season.Among the newcomers are two Colorado Springs standouts: T.J. Frison of Vista Ridge High School and David Krumland of Rampart High School. Other Coloradoans added to the roster include Ryan Buchanan of Glenwood Springs HS, Ryan Tomlinson of Castle View HS, Taylor Russell of Karval HS and Lauren Roberts of Moffat County HS. | |
