February 26, 2012Mountain Lions Wrap Up Indoor Track Season with Solid Competition at the RMAC ChampionshipsThe UCCS Mountain Lions performed admirably this last weekend at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships setting four NCAA qualifying marks, producing 10 All-RMAC honors, three school records and one RMAC Champion. In the team scores UCCS finished 6th on both the men’s and women’s sides equaling the 6th place finishes by both programs at last year’s championships.

Lauren Graham was a first-team selection, Brien Hopkins and Jason Shaver were second-team selections and five others were named to the honor roll.Mountain Lions on the honor roll were: Kaitlin Frier, Melissa Buchanan, Sara Kettelkamp, Alan Ford and Casey Weaver.

The meet consists of many NCAA Division-I runners and some professionals and it is one of the best track meets in the entire United States Midwest region. Over the next week, UCCS athletes will compete across three different competitions.
