|August 3, 2012||Colvin Earns Spot on All-Academic Squad||NEW ORLEANS – UC-Colorado Springs national pole vault qualifier and RMAC indoor champion Alex Colvin earned a spot on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Women's Teams announced by the national office last week. The organization recognized 317 student-athletes from 82 schools.|
|August 3, 2012||Women Earn All-Academic Status from USTFCCCA||NEW ORLEANS – UC-Colorado women's indoor and outdoor track and field teams were one of six RMAC teams and 83 teams in NCAA Division II to earn All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Mountain Lions earned the award after a team cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or greater.|
|May 16, 2012||Four Mountain Lions named to the 2012 DII USTFCCCA Outdoor Track & Field All-Region Teams||Colorado Springs, CO: The USTFCCCA Outdoor Track & Field 2012 All-Region Teams were announced today and that included four Mountain Lions receiving five honors. The RMAC Champion men's 4x400 team were named All-Region and those individuals included Anthony Davis, Mark Hensley, Travis Whitman, and Jonathan Wright. Jonathan Wright also received All-Region honors for his individual effort in the 400 meter dash. Women's Pole Vaulter Alex Colvin, who will be competing next week at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Pueblo, CO, was also named All-Region.|
|April 2, 2012||UCCS Tracksters Compete Nation-Wide Over Spring Break.||It was a busy spring break week for many of the UCCS track team as several individuals were competing in various meets around the country.|
|March 5, 2012||Three Mountain Lions Named All-Region in Track & Field||NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has named All-Region honorees for indoor track & field in Division II. Among the honorees are two University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Women’s Pole Vaulters and a Men’s 800 meter runner. Christy Carmody, Alex Colvin, and Matt Cameron were the three Mountain Lions on the list of 1,012 athletes from all over the country to receive All-Region honors.|
|February 13, 2012||Three Days, Four States, Two Meets, and another National Qualifier||Matt Cameron followed up his impressive performance in New Mexico last weekend with another national qualifying mark at the Grand Valley State Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan on Friday. Cameron, who currently sits fifth in the country in the 800 meter run, bettered the provisional standard in the mile by running 4:12.89 amongst stiff competition in Michigan. The performance moves Cameron to #2 all-time for UCCS behind only Moses Tum, a former national champion for the Mountain Lions.|
|January 23, 2012||Martin Hits National Qualifying Mark to Lead Mountain Lions at CU Potts Invite||Seth Martin cleared 2.06 meters (6’9”) in the high jump, finishing runner-up and bettering the NCAA Provisional Standard of 2.04 meters Saturday. In just his second collegiate meet, the freshman put himself in position to qualify for the NCAA DII Indoor National Meet to be held March 9-10 in Mankato, MN. The performance moves Martin to number two all-time on the UCCS Men’s High Jump list, behind 2009 All-American Steven Gomez. Currently sitting at 13th in the nation, Martin looks poised to improve upon his qualifying mark in the coming weeks.|
