Gantt Moves to Second in UCCS Records for 200 Dash
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Hayley Gantt moved into second in University of Colorado Colorado Springs record books in the 200-meter dash to lead the Mountain Lions at the Point Loma Nazarene Invitational today. Jessica Todd also finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles to match Gantt's finish in the 100-meter dash as the highest placers for UCCS today.
Gantt finished third in her heat and ninth overall in the 200 with 26.13 seconds and is two-hundredths of a second off of the Cherdaria Mack's record from 2006. Gantt also finished second in her heat and fifth overall in the 100-meter dash with 12.73 seconds.
Todd finished fifth in the top heat of the 400 hurdles with 1:06.77, and was .33 seconds off of her time yesterday in the San Diego State Aztec Invitational. That time of 1:06.44 is unofficially ranked third in the RMAC.
Chelsea Martus and Melanie Diep both finished sixth in the 400-meter dash and 800-meter run, respectively. Martus lowered her season-best time in the 400 by more than a half-second with 1:01.21, while Diep ran 2:20.54 in the 800-meter run in her first outdoor 800.
