Urban Leads 1-2-3 Finish for UCCS in 600 Yards at Potts Invite
BOULDER, Colo. - Alexa Urban led a 1-2-3 finish in the 600-yard run for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's indoor track and track today at the Potts Invitational at CU-Boulder. She also ran the second leg on the winning 4x400-meter relay team.
Urban finished the 600-yard run in 1 minute, 30.40 seconds and with a nearly four-second advantage in the overall results. Chelsea Martus won her heat and finished second overall in 1:34.19, and ran her way into fifth in the UCCS records. Amber McAfee finished in 1:34.71 for complete the sweep for the Mountain Lions in the event.
MaKenzie Urban joined the three Mountain Lions from the 600-yard run to win the 4x400-meter relay in 4:10.60. UCCS finished nearly 10 seconds ahead of runner-up Metro State.
Melanie Diep led the Mountain Lions in the mile run with 5:28.25. Her adjusted time on the undersized track will convert to 5:20.14 for ninth in the RMAC performance lists early in the season.
Up Next: UCCS will be off next week before returning to the track at the Colorado Mines Twilight Meet on Feb. 1.
