Wright Wins 400 at Aztec Invitational
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Jonathan Wright ran the second fastest 400-meter dash in University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's outdoor history and won his event at the 36th Aztec Invitational today at the San Diego State AzTrack.
Wright ran 48.27 seconds to win the 400-meter dash today. It was the second-fastest performance in UCCS history and came within seven-tenths of a second of his record-setting performance at the 2012 RMAC Championships. Travis Whitman also won his heat in the 400-meter dash with 49.74 seconds.
Corey Brown led a 1-2-3 sweep for the Mountain Lions in the open 5,000-meter run at the end of the night with 15:37.51. Ryder Tam finished second in 15:36.12 and Mitch Klomp ran 15:36.12 to finish third. Luke Dakin ran 15:37.51 in the invitational section of the 5,000-meter run earlier in the evening.
Up Next: UCCS will split squads between the San Diego State Aztec Invitational, Colorado Mines Front Range Invitational and the Point Loma Nazarene Invitational.
