Aberle Improves Provisional Time in New Mexico
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Carson Aberle improved on his NCAA provisional time in the 800-meter run with an altitude- and track-adjusted time of 1 minutes, 51.40 seconds to lead a small group of University of Colorado Colorado Springs runners at the New Mexico Cherry and Silver Invitational today.
Aberle finished eighth in the field of 43 runners, was the top Division II runner in the field and was the third attached collegiate finisher. He has the sixth-fastest time in Division II this season and the second-fastest in the RMAC.
Kyle McCloskey improved on his season time with an adjusted time of 1:56.11, good for sixth in the conference. He came within a half-second of a provisional qualifying time for the national championships. Matt Winfrey also improved his time with 2:00.80, and Justin Bills ran 2:04.74 in his first 800-meter run of the season and is in the top 20 of the conference performance lists.
Up Next: UCCS will be back in action next Saturday, Jan. 25, in the Colorado Mines Twilight Meet in Golden, Colo.
