Burrell, Colvin Post Provisional Marks at Colorado Mines
GOLDEN, Colo. - Megan Burrell improved on her program record and NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time in the 1,500-meter run and Alex Colvin cleared a provisional height for the fifth time this season to lead the University of Colorado Colorado Springs at the Colorado Mines Pre-Conference Meet today at the Stermole Track and Field Complex.
Burrell finished second in 4 minutes, 39.56 seconds and improved her altitude-adjusted time to 4:32.06. She also improved on her program record time from two weeks ago at the Colorado Invitational in Boulder. Burrell led a group of six Mountain Lions who finished in second through ninth in the 1,500-meter run.
Colvin cleared 11-8 ½ in the pole vault to finish second. She remains the top-ranked pole vaulter in the RMAC this season and is No. 13 in the Division II performance lists.
Jessica Todd won the 400-meter hurdles in a season-best time of 1:05.93, and is ranked fourth in the RMAC performance lists after today. She also finished second in the long jump with 17-0 ½ to rank No. 10 in the conference in her first long jump attempts of the season.
UCCS will compete in the 2013 RMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 6-7 at the Stermole Complex at Colorado Mines.
