Aberle Places 17th in 800 at Nationals

PUEBLO, Colo. - Carson Aberle finished sixth in his heat and No. 17 overall in the preliminaries of the 800-meter run tonight at the 2013 NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Pueblo, Colo.

Aberle finished in 1 minute, 53.75 seconds in the final of three heats today. He ran as high as third in the heat during the middle 400 meters of the race before falling back in the final sprint to the finish line.

Aberle finishes the season as the RMAC champion in the 800-meter run and second in UCCS record books with 1:50.88. He ran the NCAA qualifying time four times during the season.

The Mountain Lions finish the 2012-13 outdoor track and field season with 10 All-RMAC performances and with at least one student-athlete in the national championship for the third time in the last four seasons.
