Young Runs Fastest 100, Anchors Fastest 4x1 of Season

AZUSA, Calif. - Andre Young ran the fastest 100-meter time for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's track and field team and anchored the fastest 4x100-meter relay team of the season as the Mountain Lions competed in the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific.

Young ran 11.38 seconds in the 100 meters in a time that unofficially ranks in the top 15 of the RMAC standings. It was the fastest time for a Mountain Lion by more than a tenth of a second. He also anchored the 4x100-meter relay team with Jonathan Wright, Travis Whitman and Alan Ford that finished in 42.93 for the best time for UCCS this season.

Ryan Buchanan finished the 400-meter hurdles in a season-best time of 55.20 seconds and Wright led six Mountain Lions in the 400-meter dash with 48.84 seconds. Marc Hensley turned in a season-best time of 49.73 seconds in the open 400 meters.

UCCS will wrap up the weekend on Saturday at the Beach Invitational at Long Beach State.
