UCCS Records Six Top-10 Finishes at Mine Pre-Conference

GOLDEN, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs recorded six top-10 finishes across three events in the final weekend before the conference championships at the Colorado Mines Pre-Conference Meet today at the Stermole Complex.

Corey Brown was the first of five Mountain Lions to cross the finish line in the 5,000-meter run with 16 minutes and 38.69 seconds to finish eighth overall. All five Mountain Lions finished within a span of 10 places and 45 seconds. Seth Polich finished one spot behind Brown in 16:43.82, and Mitch Klomp was the third UCCS runner under the 17-minute mark with 16:51.22 in No. 12. Rob Scrivner placed No. 14 in 17:00.79, and Seth Kolosso rounded out the distance runners in 17:21.23 in No. 17.

Oren Facey led the sprinters in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, with 11.77 seconds and 22.85 seconds, respectively. He finished fifth in the 200 with a season-best adjusted time of 22.92 seconds and was eighth in the 100. Chris Myers ran season-best times and placed in the top 10 of both events.

Up Next: UCCS will compete in the 2014 RMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 5-6 at Adams State's Rex Stadium.
