UCCS Remains No. 10 in Regional Team Index

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's indoor track and field team remained No. 10 in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Central Region Team Index. The Mountain Lions have five performances ranked among the top eight in the regional performance lists.

Jonathan Wright and Carson Aberle both improved their season-best times in their respective events. Wright provisionally qualified in the 400-meter dash and has the fastest time in the region with an altitude-adjusted time of 49.52 seconds. Aberle lowered his provisional time in the 800-meter run with an adjusted time of 1:53.72 and is seventh in the region.

Travis Whitman remained ranked in the top eight of the region in the 400 with 49.98 seconds from the Colorado Mine Twilight Meet. Whitman and Wright are both members of the 4x400-meter relay team that is sixth in the region with Marc Hensley and Ryan Buchanan. Wright and Aberle join Kyle McCloskey and Matt Winfrey on the distance medley relay team is eighth in the regional performance lists.

The Mountain Lions will compete at the Joe Davies Qualifier on Saturday at Colorado Mines in the final indoor meet before the RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships Feb. 28-March 1 in Alamosa, Colo.
