Treese and Bauer Run Season Best 5K Time at 7,700 Feet
GUNNISON, Colo. - Sarah Treese and Sam Bauer both lowered their season bests in the 5,000-meter run as the two competed for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's track and field at the Western State Invitational today in Gunnison, Colo.
Bauer improved on her unadjusted time by more than 30 seconds from the Colorado Mines Division II Front Range Invitational, and performed at an altitude more than 2,000 feet higher than Golden. Bauer ran 19:37.11, which adjusted down to an 18:34.21 performance at sea level.
Treese ran an adjusted time of 19:09.95 to improve on her altitude-adjusted time by 14 seconds.
The Mountain Lions will wrap up action tonight with Megan Burrell at the Mt. SAC Relays. She's scheduled to compete in the 5,000-meter run at 11:33 p.m. MDT.
