Andrews Provisionally Qualifies in 10K at Mt. SAC
WALNUT, Calif. - Alyssa Andrews ran the third-fastest time in University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's track and field history and provisionally qualified in the 10,000-meter run to lead the Mountain Lions at the 55th Mt. SAC Relays tonight at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
Andrews finished fifth in her heat in 35 minutes, 56.90 seconds. Her time unofficially ranks No. 15 in Division II this season based on the results turned in at Mt. SAC earlier tonight. Andrews also ran the fastest time since Shannon Payne's 35:45.50 in 2008.
UCCS will continue action in the Mt. SAC Relays tomorrow in the 5,000-meter run. The Mountain Lions will also have runners in the 5,000-meter run at the Western State Invitational in Gunnison, Colo., on Friday afternoon and in the 800-meter run at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif.
