Colvin Earns Second Team RMAC All-Academic Selection
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - RMAC indoor pole vault champion Alex Colvin earned a spot on the conference's 2012-13 All-Academic Second Team announced Tuesday afternoon. Angie Martell and Alyssa Wendt were named to the Honor Roll.
Colvin repeated as the indoor pole vault champion and cleared 11-11 ¾ during the season to provisionally qualify for the national championships. She is second in UCCS program records for the indoor and outdoor pole vault. She was a member of the President's Honor Roll with a semester grade point average of 4.0 last fall as a human biology major.
Wendt finished fifth at the RMAC championships as a member of the distance medley relay and fifth in the 3,000-meter run at the Mines Twilight Collegiate Open. She was on the UCCS President's Honor Roll with a 4.0 semester GPA in the fall.
Martell earned All-RMAC honors in the 5,000-meter run with a season-best time of 18:06.52 and won the same event at the Colorado Mines Joe Davies College Open. She earned a spot on the President's Honor Roll with a major in environmental science.
Student-athletes needed a 3.30 cumulative grade point average in at least two semesters of attendance to qualify for the RMAC All-Academic Teams. The first and second teams were selected by the Sports Information Directors at the conference schools with indoor track and field.
