Colvin Named RMAC Field Athlete of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs senior pole vaulter Alex Colvin earned RMAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors this morning by the conference office. She's the first Mountain Lion to earn a weekly track and field award from the RMAC in the indoor or outdoor season.
Colvin cleared 12 feet, ½ inch at the UTEP Springtime meet last Saturday. The mark provisionally qualified her for the national championships and put her into a tie for fourth in the Division II performance lists. She is leading the RMAC in the event by more than a foot and is a two-time conference champion for the indoor pole vault.Colvin has the second-best mark in UCCS outdoor history with 12-2 from the 2012 season.
UCCS will have student-athletes competing a various meets this weekend, to match competition opportunities with individual spring break plans. The Mountain Lions will compete at the Washington University Invitational in St. Louis, the San Francisco State Distance Carnival and the Colorado Mines Division II Front Range Invitational.
