By Jared Verner published January 18, 2013

BOULDER, Colo. - Alex Colvin matched her season best with 10 feet, 11 ¾ inches in the pole vault to open the University of Colorado Colorado Springs action at the University of Colorado Boulder Potts Invitational this afternoon at Balch Fieldhouse. Colvin was stopped at the provisional qualifying height of 11-5 ¾.

Colvin opened with 10-6 and cleared the height on her first attempt before clearing 10-11 ¾. She continues to rank third in the RMAC performance lists, and a provisional qualifying performance would have moved her into a tie for first in the conference list and No. 24 in the national performance list.

The rest of the Mountain Lion track and field teams will be in action again at the Potts Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The preliminaries of the 60-meter dash will open the day at 2 p.m. for UCCS.
