BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Anthony Davis ran the third-fastest 800-meter time among the teams in the distance medley relay as the University of Colorado Colorado Springs finished No. 11 at the 2013 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships tonight at the Birmingham CrossPlex Complex. The Mountain Lions ran 10 minutes, 8.51 seconds.

Kyle McCloskey opened with 3:06.19 in the 600-meter leg to put UCCS in No. 11 after the first leg. Travis Whitman, one of the fastest 400-meter sprinters in UCCS program history ran 49 seconds even and narrowed the gap to the 10th-place team to .17 seconds.

Davis moved the Mountain Lions within All-America range with a 1:54.01 800-meter split before the handoff to Mike English for the mile leg. English ran what would be a personal indoor best with a split of 4:19.34 in the open mile, but seven of the teams had mile runners who recorded provisional qualifying times in the open mile this season as UCCS placed No. 11 in the national meet.

Tonight's race marked the final meet of the 2012-13 indoor track and field season for the Mountain Lions. UCCS will send athletes to open the outdoor season next weekend, March 16, at the Jerry Quiller Classic at the University of Colorado Boulder.
