INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs will send four student-athletes to the 2013 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 8 at the CrossPlex Complex at Birmingham, Ala. The track championships will be a part of the larger NCAA Division II National Championships Festival in Birmingham during the week.

Kyle McCloskey, Travis Whitman, Anthony Davis and Mike English will compete in the distance medley relay at 6:50 p.m. MST on March 8. The Mountain Lions have the seventh-fastest time among the 12 accepted teams and will be one of four RMAC teams in the field.

The team has the UCCS record with an altitude and track-adjusted time of 9:53.34. Davis was an All-RMAC runner in the 800-meter run last Saturday and Whitman qualified for Saturday's final in the 400-meter dash.

The NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships will be conducted along with the national championships in swimming and wrestling for the second winter championships festival. The City of Birmingham and the Gulf South Conference will co-host the championships and the more than 1,100 student-athletes scheduled to compete.
