DMR Breaks Program Record, Runs Nation's Fifth-Fastest Time

By Jared Verner published February 15, 2013

GOLDEN, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's distance medley relay broke the program record and unofficially ran the fifth-fastest time in Division II this season in the opening night of the Joe Davies Open at Colorado School of Mines.

Kyle McCloskey, Travis Whitman, Anthony Davis and Mike English ran an altitude and track adjusted time of 9:53. The time is less than five seconds from the national automatic qualifying time and ranks second in the RMAC performance lists. The relay team also broke the record set last season, when Davis ran on that 2012 team along with Carson Aberle, Alan Ford and Matt Cameron.

The rest of the Mountain Lions will be in action again tomorrow for the rest of the Joe Davies Open. The first action for a UCCS student-athlete begins at 11:35 a.m. at Steinhauer Fieldhouse.
